Wednesday, October 31st - Day 2

- In Mathematics, students played a game to review the concept and process of calculating the area and perimeter of rectangles and squares. (Merci concombre!) Then students played "How close to 100?". Students analyzed their results and tried re-arranging the shapes to include more turns/shapes.
- In Science, students built a short circuit. We reflected upon the following questions: What happens? Why does the light turn off? Where is the electrons going? Why does it warm up? Why is it dangerous to have appliances with stripped wires?
- In Art, we began studying different Canadian artists. Today we started studying Emily Carr's art work representing trees, forests and landscapes in Western Canada. Then students created their own art using oil pastels.

Homework:
- Reading in French for 20 minutes. Students have been working on identifying the problem of story, describing the main character and identifying the lesson or message of the story. Ask me about my book.
Due Thursday: Students must bring in their notes about one of the questions.
Options:
a. Identify problem and explain why it is the problem.
b. Describe the main character (physically, personality)
c. Identify the lesson/message of the story and describe it.

Students can wear appropriate costumes or wear orange and black on Thursday.
