- - In Mathematics, students completed a quiz to show what they know about numbers inferior to 1 000 000. Quizzes will be going home next week.
-- In Science, we continued to learn about safety precautions and dangers when using electrical devices. Students divided key words from yesterday's reading and create a web of key words. Ask me to tell you about three of the words we studied and examined.
- - Students completed their writing about their personal preferences. This work will be sent home next week to share with you.

Homework: Last week, students identified that presenting feelings may mask underlying feelings. Students are to read for 20 minutes in French. Their goal is to identify two examples of how a character may be presenting a feeling but may be masking another feeling. Students are asked to ponder why the character may be masking a feeling.
-       Reading 20 minutes in French (everyday)
-       Taking notes of examples and reasons why a character may be masking a feeling.
-       Journee Speciale ce Jeudi! (Jour Pyjama) et le temps avec Dash et Dot (Vendredi)
-       Scholastics are due by Friday, September 27th 2019

Wednesday, September 25th 2019 – Day 1
-       In Math, we practiced reading and writing numbers up to 1 million. In groups, students played a game to estimate the differences and sums of numbers. Students then independently completed practice questions.
-       In Science, students read about safety rules with electricity. Students then used an online resource to identify dangerous situations that may occur with electricity at school, at home and within the community. http://www.hydroquebec.com/chachoc/jeu/module/intro.html
-       In Health, students completed a survey and set goals for the Terry Fox run.
-       In English, students reviewed part of a speech. They then choose a topic they are going to write about and turn into a Madlib.

Homework: See posting from Monday.
PJ day tomorrow!

Tuesday, September 24th 2019- Day 6

-       In Mathematics, students played a game to practice reading and recognizing numbers up to a million. Then with friends, students practiced adding and subtracting large numbers up to a million. Students finished class by completing a few questions independently. As effective math learners, we checked our calculations and verified the sum and differences with a calculator.
-       In Science, we continued to learn about magnetism. We know that when a magnet is exposed to heat, it’s magnetic field decreases. We pondered “What will happen to the magnetic field is the magnet is frozen. We then decided on which test would reveal if the magnetic field had changed.
-       In Social Studies, we reviewed what is Physical Geography. After our reading, we identified what elements make a region unique.
-       On Friday, I need to dress warmly for the weather for the Terry Fox Run (in layers and in safe outdoor shoes to run in rather than winter boots or rain boots).  If it is snowing or raining lightly, we are still running outside.  (If weather is unsafe, we will be inside.)  I also need to bring a pair of dry socks to change into afterwards.
