Tuesday,January 14th 2020 - Day 5

- Students participated in Physical Education, Music and reading centers.
- In Art, students read the books "O'Canada" and"The Cremation of Sam McGee". Students identified patterns in Ted Harrison's art and analyzed the artwork.
- In Mathematics, students played three rounds of block 16 as a class. Then we returned to yesterday questions, what are questions we could ask that we could collect secondary data (donne secondaire). We discussed that a quality questions would have more than one response, might look at a data that changes over time, is appropriate for school and provides us with information.
Sample questions included:
- How many wild fires have occurred in Alberta since 2009?
- How many animals were adopted each month during 2009 from the Calgary Humane Society?
- How much has the sea level risen each year since 2009?
- How many natural disasters have occurred each year since 2009 in Canada?



Homework: January 13th 2020 to February 6th 2020

Students have a book report sheet to fill out based on their reading.
Student choose their books last week from the library.
Students are to hand in their work by the 6th and be prepared to share their work.

Once students have completed their first book, have shared it with their teacher and received feedback. Students will then write a good copy. They will be encouraged to complete a second.
