Tuesday, January 21st 2020 - Day 3 

- In Mathematics, students reviewed how to multiply a 2 digit number by a 2 digit number.  Students identified mistakes in two questions presented to them. Then students practiced prior to our quiz on Friday. Students may use their templates, multiplication charts and examplars. 

- Students participated in Physical Education, reading centers, music and visited the library. 

- In ELA, students reviewed their writing about similes. Students wrote a good copy of their simile poems. 

- Students finished off their day with art. They continued to create and develop their art work that highlights features of Ted Harrison's art work.  

Homework: January 13th 2020 to February 6th 2020
Students have a book report sheet to fill out based on their reading.
Student choose their books last week from the library.
Students are to hand in their work by the 6th and be prepared to share their work.

Once students have completed their first book, have shared it with their teacher and received feedback. Students will then write a good copy. They will be encouraged to complete a second.


2 parent volunteers are required for an in-school activity called Digest This on February 27th from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

Yearbook Sales

Dear Parents & Guardians, École Varsity Acres has once again partnered with Jostens, Canada’s largest creator and distributor of school yearbooks, to produce a yearbook this year for all students. Yearbooks will be sold for $15.00 per copy starting today, Monday, January 20th until Friday, January 31st 2020. The purchase of a yearbook is optional.  If you choose to to purchase one, please complete the payment on your PowerSchool account.  Once the fee has been paid, you will be able to print your own receipt if you desire.  Our school yearbook will help build pride and community for our students with memories to last a lifetime.
