Tuesday, November 26th 2019 - Day 3

- In Mathematics, we reviewed our geometry vocabulary. We examined 4 sided shapes that are similar (semblable) and different. Students learned about quadrilaterals and began identifying common quadrilaterals. Ask me what is quadrilateral.
- In Science, students identified different appliances that uses electricity. Ask me about the different classifications of machines that use electricity. Our work is uploaded to Iris.
- In ELA, as a class we finished chapter 4 of our novel study.
- Students participated in physical education, music, reading centers and visited the library for book exchange.



Homework: 20 minutes daily 
1. Complete forms for skiing and snowboarding at COP this December.

2. Review the document-  How is my child doing? The four point scale has been modified since our last reporting period in June 2019. Students will be spending time this week identifying at which level they are achieving in French, Mathematics and Science.
Task: Discuss with your child how they think they are doing in:
French:
a) Speaking French
b) Reading in French
c) Writing (including spelling and grammar)

Mathematics
a) Number Sense (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication)
b) Measurement: Area and perimeter
c) Geometry: Lines

Science:
a) Understanding of Magnetism and Electricity
b) Problem Solving
c) Communication


3. Reading in French (Out loud).  Students are to identify the setting in their books. How does the setting change throughout the story.

4. We are visiting the library for book exchange tomorrow.

FOOD BANK DONATIONS NEEDEDWe are collecting non-perishable food items for the Mayor's Food Bank Drive until December 19.  Items can include:  Pasta sauce, granola bars, juice boxes, powdered milk, stage three baby food, peanut butter, pasta, rice, soup cans or packages, cereal, oatmeal, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned beans, canned fruit, pancake/bread/biscuit mixes, gluten-free pasta, etc.  Thank you for your support!
