In
Mathematics, students played a game to practice reading and recognizing numbers
up to a million. Then with friends, students practiced adding and subtracting
large numbers up to a million. Students finished class by completing a few
questions independently. As effective math learners, we checked our
calculations and verified the sum and differences with a calculator.

In
Science, we continued to learn about magnetism. We know that when a magnet is
exposed to heat, it’s magnetic field decreases. We pondered “What will happen
to the magnetic field is the magnet is frozen. We then decided on which test
would reveal if the magnetic field had changed.

In
Social Studies, we reviewed what is Physical Geography. After our reading, we
identified what elements make a region unique.

On Friday, I need to dress warmly for the weather
for the Terry Fox Run (in layers and in safe outdoor shoes to run in rather
than winter boots or rain boots). If it is snowing or raining lightly, we
are still running outside. (If weather is unsafe, we will be
inside.) I also need to bring a pair of dry socks to change into
afterwards.
- Homework: Last week, students identified that presenting feelings may mask underlying feelings.
Students are to read for 20 minutes in French. Their goal is to identify two
examples of how a character may be presenting a feeling but may be masking
another feeling. Students are asked to ponder why the character may be masking
a feeling.
- Reading
20 minutes in French (everyday)
- Taking
notes of examples and reasons why a character may be masking a feeling.
