23rd 2019- Day 5
- During guided reading, students identified
smaller words in vocabulary. They used the smaller word to decode the meaning
of the larger words. Students then read independently, and identified words
within the texts. Ask me to identify the
small word and example the meaning of “découragé”.
- In Mathematics, we played a game to review
of to read numbers up to 1 000 000. Then we identified different ways to
estimate and round numbers up to 1 000 000. We analyzed which is the most
efficient versus which is the most accurate. Students applied estimation and
rounding strategies prior to finding the sum of number inferior to 1 000 000.
- In Science, we read the book “Push and Pull
Magnets”. Students used magnets and reviewed the concept of magnetism. What is
magnetism? How do magnetics attract? Push back? Where do we see and use
magnets?
Homework: Last week, students identified that presenting feelings may mask underlying feelings.
Students are to read for 20 minutes in French. Their goal is to identify two
examples of how a character may be presenting a feeling but may be masking
another feeling. Students are asked to ponder why the character may be masking
a feeling.
- Reading
20 minutes in French
- Taking
notes of examples and reasons why a character may be masking a feeling. (En Francais)
